Day 1: Bayul-sur-Mer to Girona

The riders being their journey just north of the French-Spanish border in the picturesque coastal town of Banyul-sur-Mer. They’re in for a big first day with 126km and some mountainous climbs.
They’ll need every ounce of energy to make it to Girona, where they’ll spend the night and nurse their saddle sores before doing it all again the next day.
Banyuls-sur-Mer is a charming coastal town located in southern France near the Spanish border. Situated along the stunning Côte Vermeille, it is globally famous for its rich, sweet fortified wines and steep, terraced vineyards overlooking the Mediterranean.
The town is also the proud birthplace of the renowned sculptor Aristide Maillol.
Day 2: Girona to Barcelona
The chaps are really in for it on day 2, a little less climbing but 147km stand between them and Barcelona. The route heads south from Girona towards the coastline where the group will be rewarded with stunning views all the way to Barcelona.

Girona is famous for its remarkably preserved medieval Old Town, the iconic colorful houses hanging over the Onyar River, and as a filming location for Game of Thrones (notably the Cathedral steps).
